It all started in the 4th Qtr. of the year 2000 with the
release of the world's first digital KVM switches. Built
to provide emergency remote access to your server, marketed
as an alternative to the traditional KVM Switch and released
prematurely to offer shareholder value. All you needed was
exceptional patience, a disinterest in security and $10,000.
They say time is a great healer, so what can we expect
from the technology today? Well the news is good, security
has been addressed, as to a great extent has the issue of
mouse latency (delay), but perhaps the most significant
improvement is that the products are now widely affordable.
The Adderlink IP has an internet price
of only £532.49 + VAT and I would recommend anyone
with a passing interest in remote access to try it out
LIVE (see below).
