ClassView consists of a teacher's unit and multiple
students' units. The ClassView units are connected together with a single
bus cable.
Installation
ClassView is easy to install. Simply connect the instructor's and
each student's computer, keyboard, monitor, and mouse to each ClassView
unit using the Rose UltraCable. Connect the ClassViews together using
the bus cable. Set the address of each student's unit from the front panel
dip switches and power the units on. The yellow status lights on the front
of each unit will flash to show that the units are networked together.
Your installation is now complete.
Cables
Rose's UltraCable streamlines the cable connections to MultiStation, simplifying
cable management and improving system reliability. Each unit comes with
a five foot computer, KVM, and bus cable. Connection between the units
uses high quality 13W3 video connectors for crystal clear video even at
long distances.
Operation
When interconnected to the Instructor's ClassView unit, the Instructor's
keyboard provides control connections through the keyboard. An instructor
keyboard template is provided. It fits over the function keys and gives
an easy reference to the keyboard commands to make connections. Entering
commands from the student's keyboard is disabled by default, unless it
is configured to be able to use the Transfer Mode described below.
The instructor can access any student's computer in
three modes. View Mode allows the instructors to see the student's station
without disturbing their keyboard or mouse. The Share Mode allows the
instructor to see the student's station and interact with the student
via keyboard and mouse sharing. The Control Mode allows the instructor
to see a student's station and take complete control of the keyboard and
mouse. The share mode has an adjustable timeout to optimize the interaction
between the student and the teacher.
The instructor can enable and disable any or all student
workstations in two modes. Disable Mode allows the instructor to blank
out a student's screen and lock out the keyboard and mouse. The Freeze
Mode allows the instructor to lock out the keyboard and mouse but keep
the student's screen on.
There are three other modes that allow the instructor
to work with the class. The Show Mode allows the instructors to show their
screen to any, all, or a when lit indicates that video from the computer
is being sent to other units. One or more units may be receiving the video.

Video
The ClassView system can drive video, keyboard, and mouse up to 100 feet
away. Video resolution up to 1280 x 1024 is supported. There is an adjustable
timeout for the video so that the video can be automatically turned off
after 1-999 seconds of inactivity.
Options
The unit is rack mountable with 19lh, 23lh and 24lh rack kits available.
There is an RS232 port on each unit. This can be used in conjunction with
